My name is Dr. Richard Martin but most people call me "Doc Martin" or just plain "Doc"

Photography has been an on and off hobby of mine since my younger brother talked me into buying a Minolta SRT-101 35mm film SLR in the early 70's. He had an ulterior motive because he wanted to set up a darkroom in the lab of my dental office. Which we did and used for about 6 years. He died at an early age in 1982 and I gradually drifted away from photography.

I got back into the hobby in 1999 when some of us started a McNeese State University fan website called GeauxCowboys and I was looking for something to put on the website. I'd take pictures with a Minolta XD-11, get the photos developed, scan the images, and put them in a page on the website. Very time consuming and a little costly.

Then I moved to digital cameras. The first digital camera I used was a Sony Mavica that used floppy disks, ate batteries like crazy, and was only 1 megapixel. The resulting pictures were terrible. I moved from that to a Canon 20D, a 40D, a 7D, and now a 7D MK II. I made my mind up at the first of 2013.   I was going to improve my equipment and, more importantly, my skills capturing images and my skills at post processing.

Please let me know if you like any of my photos. And you can buy them, too.
